Financial Aid Rights
As a Jefferson College student, you have the right to:
- Be informed about financial aid programs, application, eligibility, and renewal
requirements - Understand how your cost of attendance and financial need are determined
- Be advised on the requirements in the case of withdrawal, refunds and the
repayment of financial aid - Have all financial aid information treated with the highest professional
confidentiality - Know how and when financial aid funds are disbursed
- Request a review of your financial aid package if family and/or financial
circumstances have changed
Financial Aid Responsibilities
As a Jefferson College student, you have the responsibility to:
- Submit all forms and documents required to complete the financial aid process
in a timely and accurate manner - Read, understand and retain copies of all information and/or forms that are
sent to you or that you must sign - Know and comply with the rules governing your aid program(s)
- Register for courses that count toward your degree or certificate
- Attend and actively participate in all courses in which you enroll
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Notify the Financial Aid Office of other financial aid assistance received for the
academic year - Request assistance if you have questions or do not understand the information
provided to you. - Keep your address current with the Jefferson College Admissions Office
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic
year
