Communication
Program Overview
A communication course significantly enhances students' ability to communicate effectively. Strong communication skills are vital for success in college, enabling students to express their ideas clearly and persuasively to professors and classmates. This includes verbal, non-verbal, and written communication, all of which are essential in academic and future career situations.
Academic Plan
The Academic Plan is a semester-by-semester plan for the full-time college-ready student. Part-time students should work with an advisor to customize the map to fit individual needs. Students interested in a specific field of study within communication (advertising, marketing, public relations) should work with their advisor to tailor a plan to their needs.
Course Guides
Jefferson College Institutional Course Guides (ICGs) are found in the Simple Syllabus - Syllabus Library AND/OR within your Canvas class page via the Simple Syllabus link in the Course Navigation Menu.
Career Opportunities
Employers place a high value on communication skills when hiring. By taking a communication class, students learn to articulate their thoughts and collaborate effectively in team settings, both of which are crucial for workplace success. Such courses prepare students for interviews and professional interactions, equipping them with the confidence needed to excel in their careers.
