1098T Tax Forms

The Form 1098-T is a statement that colleges and universities are required to issue to eligible students.  The form will provide the total dollar amount that was paid (Box 1) for qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE) in a calendar year.  The form will also provide the total dollar amount of scholarships and/or grants (Box 5) that were administered and processed by Jefferson College in the same calendar year.

(Any prior year adjustments will be reported in Box 4 or Box 6.)

If you are eligible to receive a 1098-T, the tax form will be be available to you electronically through MyJeffco, on or before January 31st.  The 1098-T form will also be mailed to you at the address currently on file with Jefferson College.

To access your 1098-T through MyJeffco, please follow the steps below:

  • Login to MyJeffco
  • Student Tab
  • Account Information
  • Print your Form 1098-T

At this point you will be directed to our 3rd party provider’s (Maximus TRA Services) website.

Login with your TRA Services User ID and Password if you have previously set up an account. 

Or, if this will be the first time you have accessed a 1098-T form online with Jefferson College, please click on the “Register” option and follow the instructions to register.

Beginning with the 2021 tax year, along with your 1098-T, you will also receive a Financial Detail Page.  This page will give detailed information regarding the financial activity (eligible 1098-T charges, payments, scholarships, grants, refunds, etc.) that occurred on your student account in the calendar year.      

Please be aware that Jefferson College staff cannot determine if you qualify for a tax credit or give any tax advice.  This financial data is provided to assist you in computing amounts that may be eligible for the American Opportunity or Lifetime Learning Tax Credits.  It does not represent tax or legal advice from Jefferson College.  You should obtain IRS Publication 970 and IRS Form 8863, or contact a tax professional about personal income tax situations.
