Athletic Training

The mission of the Jefferson College Athletic Training Department is to provide optimal medical care to the student athletes through preventative measures, acute emergency and non-emergency attention, rehabilitative measures, injury/illness management and injury education. Additionally, the Department is to provide individual support and personal attention between the student athlete and medical community in order to ensure highest possible quality medical care. Gregg Crain has been Jefferson College's full-time certified athletic trainer since 2008. Crain received a B.S. in Biology from Tennessee Wesleyan College. He holds a Master's Degree in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy and a Master's Graduate Certificate in Sports Management from Missouri Baptist University. He is certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association and is licensed with the Missouri State Board of Healing Arts. Crain is an American Red Cross instructor for Adult/Child and Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid.  He is also an adjunct instructor for the Health/PE department. Before coming to Jefferson, Crain worked for a St. Louis based healthcare facility as a Certified Athletic Trainer covering local high school sports. Crain has experience working in the professional, collegiate, industrial and secondary school setting.
