Amy Ashbrook, J.D.

2024 Alumna of the Year

_

Amy Ashbrook was raised in Jefferson County, Missouri. She is the widowed mother of five children, and the daughter of Pastors James and Carole Womble. Her educational path started at Jefferson College, where she was a dual-enrolled homeschool student. She fondly recalls Mr. George Podorski’s invaluable assistance with Algebra during her time here.

After graduating from Jefferson College in 1997, Amy adopted four children before pursuing higher education. She obtained a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, in 2008. Continuing her academic journey, she earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Lindenwood in 2011 and a Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University in 2017. During her time at Jefferson College, Amy worked in the President’s Office and occasionally assisted Roger Barrentine with the newsletter. Her standout courses included Midwest Model United Nations and Political Science. Currently, Amy serves on the Board of Directors for Faiths’ Creation Christian Center and True Connection Church, which operates Encounter Recovery Services — a vital resource for individuals battling addiction.

For the past seven years, she has done extensive work with the child abuse and neglect unit of the Juvenile Division. Additionally, she is the director and managing attorney at Missouri Justice League, a local non-profit law firm. Here, she offers discounted legal services in family law and flat-fee estate planning, with special rates for retired and active-duty military personnel and police officers.

Amy reminds us to: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.”- Proverbs 31:8
