Why meet with an Advisor?
All new students must make an advising appointment to enroll in classes once your admissions file is completed. Your Advisor can assist you with enrolling in classes, reviewing any additional requirements that may be necessary for financial aid, reviewing previous coursework, high school or college GPA, and/or test scores for course placement and discussing degree and certificate options.
What completes my Admissions file?
Once you are accepted and are logged into your MyJeffco account, you will need have the necessary transcripts and/or test scores on file with the Office of Admissions - then you can schedule an appointment with an Advising Specialist.
How do I make an appointment?
Log into your MyJeffco account, select the Student link under Menu, the Advisor drop down and the Advisor Scheduling page to make your appointment. If you get an error message, call (636) 481-3209 for assistance or email advisor@jeffco.edu. Please note, if you have a hold on your account OR have not completed the admissions file, you will not be able to schedule an advising appointment until outstanding items are resolved.
What do I need to bring to my advising appointment?
A photo ID is required to meet with an Advising Specialist due to FERPA laws. Examples include, a valid driver's license, state ID, passport or military issued ID. You are allowed to bring up to one guest. Your appointment information will include the appointment's location. In addition to in-person meetings, the majority of advisors also conduct meetings through phone, email, and Google Meet.
