The Financial Aid Office at Jefferson College is here to assist you through the financial aid process. Whether you need help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or have questions about different options to pay for school, our office is here to help.
Getting Started
Students should apply for financial aid at least 10-12 weeks before the start of the semester. Everyone applying for financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year.

Staying in good academic standing and maintaining “satisfactory academic progress” is important in keeping your financial aid.
Special Circumstances
In situations where a student’s (or their family’s) current financial circumstances (loss of employment, etc.), are not accurately reflected in the two years prior information reported on the FAFSA, an adjustment to the student’s data elements may be warranted. Upon request, and on a case-by-case basis, the Financial Aid Office will review these circumstances. Contact our office for more details.
Unusual Circumstances
Under very limited circumstances, an otherwise dependent student may be able to submit the FAFSA without parental information due to unusual circumstances. If you believe you have an unusual circumstance and are unable to provide parental information, please contact our office to discuss the Dependency Override process.
